Moto Phones In China Could Switch To Zuk Custom Software
New reports are coming in suggesting that the Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility could be switching to Zuk custom software in China. Moto branded phones in China could be ditching the stock Android interface for Lenovo’s Zuk custom skin.
Motorola used to have its own custom skin before it was bought by Google. The company then switched to stock Android with some Moto apps to enhance the experience. This was extremely well received by the Android community. Lenovo then came in and bought Moto from Google. While for a few months Lenovo changed nothing about Motorola, it started showing signs of Lenovo interference when Moto phones were starting to look like Lenovo’s phones.
Furthermore, new Moto phones were released with Mediatek processors, something that came as a surprise for a lot of people. Now, in yet another sign that Motorola is undergoing a drastic conversion, we could be seeing the company ditch stock Android interface for Zuk custom software.
As a part of this process, the company is already testing Zuk custom software on Moto Z and Moto Z Play. 25 beta testers are currently testing the first few ports of Zuk UI on these two Moto phones.
So far, it seems that this is only going to be limited to China. However, it will only be a matter of time before other markets also start seeing Moto phones with Zuk custom UI.
