Moto E3 Power mobiles, blasts while charging
Mobiles going up in flames is not a new thing these days. Reports of Samsung, Oppo and a few Redmi mobiles blasting or catching fire is quite an old news. There are many reasons for a mobile to catch fire. It can be both manufacturing defect and user negligence. But the race to manufacture compact mobiles and condense big battery into a small dimension is a primary reason. Recently a Moto E mobile user Sachin Yadav, from Haryana, reported that his mobile went up in flames. Sachin Yadav was charging the Moto E3 Power with the stock charger and in 20 minutes the mobile started generating a lot of heat and it blasts open to release smoke. The incident has been caught on camera and you can see the video below.
You can see that the mobile is spewing smoke and at the end, it is totally charred. The mobile is 1 year and 2 months old. Moto mobiles are known for their reliability and quality of construction. But now it is seen here, that even Moto mobiles can be of low quality. Moto E3 Power is a 9.6mm thick mobile with 3500 mAh battery and running on Mediatek MT6735P octa-core processor. Moto mobiles were used to be a symbol of quality and value for money. But after Lenovo take-over, Moto mobiles have degraded in quality.
Sachin Yadav has contacted the customer care and they are not responding. If it was Redmi or Samsung, they would respond to such incidents instantly and see to it that their consumer is safe and compensated. Will Lenovo respond to Sachin Yadav’s complaints? Thankfully Sachin Yadav was not hurt, but what if he had been? This is not just a monetary loss, but it is a serious safety concern. Lenovo must investigate into this and make sure that such incidents don’t happen in the future.
