Microsoft published MS-DOS source code to GitHub
First released back in 1981, MS-DOS was the lifeline for Microsoft back in 1980s, till Windows OS came up. Even the versions of Windows till Windows ME were built on MS-DOS. This week, Microsoft has uploaded source code of MS-DOS to GitHub, Microsoft’s recently acquired respository manager.
The GitHub repo contains the original source-code and compiled binaries for MS-DOS v1.25 and MS-DOS v2.0. The source code is same that was originally shared at the Computer History Museum back in 2014. GitHub repo will also have reference-to in external writing and works, and to allow exploration and experimentation for those interested in early PC Operating Systems.
The GitHub repo can be found in this link. You can find code for versions 1.25 and 2.0 in this repository.
