Microsoft enable carrier billing for Windows Phone in China, India and Brazil
Microsoft has announced today that carrier billing for Windows Phone stores is enabled in China (China Mobile), India (Idea Celluarl) and Brazil (Claro). Verizon Wireless in USA has added carrier billing for Windows Phone to the platforms it supports. This means that Windows Phone users on any of these networks can have their purchases on Windows Phone store billed to their mobile phone network billing instead of using Debit/Credit cards.
By adding three new carriers, Microsoft now works with 81 carriers in 46 markets to provide and enhance carrier billing. Microsoft is working on offering full-service store in 191 markets (50 languages), providing various monetization options (paid, freemium, ad-funded apps), merchandise apps by market with hands-on curation, create better app discovery for customers.
