Microsoft continues as the #1 software company in India
Research firm Gartner has revealed that Microsoft is now valued as the number 1 software company in India. By way of revenue increasing 8.3% from 2013, the software giant has ended up as the highest revenue maker in the fiscal year 2014-15.
Bhavish Sood, research director at Gartner, said:
“Improvement in global economic conditions has somewhat relaxed the strain on the Indian economy, thereby boosting corporate sentiments. Microsoft has retained the number 1 position on the back of the dynamics of the enterprise market. Together with IBM and Oracle, Microsoft holds nearly 50% of the marketshare in India. On its own, Microsoft has a 25% share, which is huge as it is.
