Microsoft announce Lumia 540 budget smartphone with HD display

Today, Microsoft has announced the launch of Lumia 540, the new budget Windows Mobile powered smartphone in India. Priced at Rs.10,199/-, the new phone will be available through online and traditional stores from 18th of May 2015. Lumia 540 comes with a 5” 720p resolution display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdraon 200 chip with 1.2GHz quad core CPU. There is an 8mp rear camera with LED flash for low light photography and the 5mp front facing camera has a wide angle lens that allows wider field for selfie addicts. Microsoft was bang on target with the Lumia 640 affordable smartphone and we do hope that the Lumia 540 will be as good as the Lumia 640. As a launch offer, Microsoft is offering Rs.1,000/- paytm cashback coupon (200/- x 5), 800/- ola cashback, 2 month gaaana subscription and double data plan for two months.

There is 8GB of onboard storage space and this can be expanded using a microSD card (up to 128GB). There is 1GB of RAM and Microsoft is offering 30GB of free cloud storage if the onboard storage is not enough for your needs. The 2200 mAh battery gives 26.2 hours of 2G talktime or 14.8 hours of 3G talktime. There are two SIM card slots and the phone supports Bluetooth v4, USB 2.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.
