Microsoft announce IT Pro Developer preview of Office 2016 suite
It is time for IT Professionals to start testing the next version of Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft has released Developer Preview built variant of Office 2016. Office 2016 is one of the most anticipated software suits that will be out this year. For several months, Microsoft was running closed door preview and is now ready to expand the protram to Office 365 customers. Do note that this build will not contain all the features that Microsoft has planned and proposed in development timeline. This preview program is intended for businesses only and it not for personal use/testing.
Microsoft has added many new features to Office 2016, revamped the layout and interface. Listed below are some of the key features that will make a lot of different.
Data Loss Protection : Already available for Exchange, Outlook, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint, the same classification and policy features will be available for Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps. IT admins can now centrally create manage and enforce policies for document sharing and content authoring.
Outlook : Outlook now supports MAPI-HTTP protocol, multi factor authentication, improved search. Outlook is also much smaller and takes much less memory while running.
Click-to-Run deployment : New Background Intelligence Transfer Service (BITS) will help prevent congestion of traffic and throlles back the use of bandwidth when other critical traffic is in the network, a better SCCM to help IT admins to distribute Office updates in a better manner, better update management, easier activation managment etc.
Visio: Thanks to extended Information Rights Management (IRM), Visio files are now better protected for online and offline access.
