Microsoft announce Holo Lens Academic Research program
Microsoft’s HoloLens, first announced at “Windows 10: The Next Chapter” back in January has been a hot topic and Microsoft is trying to make sure that the excitement is transformed into successfull product implementation. This week, Microsoft has announced that they are engaging researchers across various disciplines to expedite Holo Lens development, to push boundaries. The primary goal is to better understand how holographic computing can be applied to the society, to understand possible applications for Holographic computing. Microsoft will give away five awards with a total prize money of $100,000 and two HoloLens development kit. The gifts will be given to the universities to fund the award winning proposal. The proposals should be submitted through the online application tool by 11:30pm (Pacific daylight time), September 5th 2015.
