All you need to know about Mi Band 4
Xiaomi has finally unveiled Mi Band 4, the successor to Mi Band 3 in their wearable fitness tech line up. Mi Band 4 is an eagerly awaited upgrade. The closest competitor in the market for Honor Band 4 which has been released a long while ago with color display. Now that Mi Band 4 also has color display, but it has much more than that. Here is everything you need to know about the Mi Band 4.
Display
Mi Band 4 has a 0.95 inch AMOLED color touch screen display which is about 40% larger than Mi Band 3’s display. The 2.5D curved glass is much less rounded than Mi Band 3. Also it now supports watch faces. The official Mi Fit app supports over 77 watch faces.
Water Resistant
Mi Band 4 is 5ATM water resistant which means that you can take in under water for about 50 meters deep. It tracks your swimming activities and can differentiate between multiple types of strokes.
NFC payment and Voice Recognition
A variant of the Mi Band 4 supports NFC payment from Alipay and obvioulsy this feature does not make sense for India. Also Xiaomi’s own voice assistant Xiao AI is supported by Mi Band 4 which is also not available in India.
Just like Mi Band 3
Mi Band 4 has all the functionalites of Mi Band 3 like sleep tracking, step tracking, heart rate, activities, app notifications, caller ID and weather notifications. It still does not have GPS tracking. But the existing features have been improved with the use of new and improved Tri-axis Accelerometer + Tri-axis Gyro, Capacitive Wear Monitoring Sensors in the Mi Band 4. It is about 22 grams in weight and has a 135 mAH battery. The battery can last for about 20 days as per Xiaomi.
Price
Mi Band 4 has not yet been announced in India. In china it is priced at 24$ or approximately Rs 1700. The NFC edition with voice assistant is priced at 33$ or approximately Rs 2300. The NFC edition may not make it to India but the regular Mi Band 4 is expected to be priced at around Rs 2000 which is also the current selling price of Mi Band 3. There is also a special edition of Mi Band 4 with Avengers custom dials matching bands which has a special price tag of $50 or Rs 3500 approximately.
Let us wait for Mi Band 4 to be available in India and it will be a good addition to the market which is already dominated by Xiaomi Globally and in India.
