Marvell announce powerful ARMADA 1500 Ultra for set top box makers
ARMADA 1500 Ultra is a new system-on-chip, announced by Marvell Semiconductors and will be part of ARMADA 1500 lineup of SoCs. At the heart, ARMADA 1500 Ultra has a quad core ARM A53 CPU, 8 core GPU. The CPU can generate 14000 DMIPS (Dhrystone MIPS) and GPU can hit 51 GFLOPs. The new SoC is designed to enabled PayTV operators and STB makers to deliver smaller form factor devices that not only consume less power but also provide 4K resolution quality video and gaming services to subscribers. With this, Marvell has become the worlds first chipmaker to provide 64-bit SoC to both mobile and PayTV segments.
