LG announces Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy phones running Android Lollipop

It’s not even MWC yet, but LG has gotten into the wham-bang fast-track mode announcing four new phones running Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Korean giant is targeting the mid-range with all the four devices, namely – Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy. The naming scheme is weird with no resemblance or inspiration from the previous generation or even older devices, but it’s refreshing nonetheless. All the four devices look good, so there’s that going for LG.

LG Lollipop

On a positive note, all the four devices come with Lollipop out of the box. It’s been a few months now, so it shouldn’t be a surprise, but sometimes companies like LG are not all that great with these things. Either way, here are the specs of the devices announced.

  • Android 5.0 Lollipop with custom UI on top
  • 5 inch HD display, ~ 294 PPI
  • Chipset: 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz Quad-Core

  • 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory
  • 2,540 mAh battery

LG Spirit

  • Android 5.0 Lollipop with custom UI on top
  • 4.7 inch HD display, ~312 PPI

  • 2,100 mAh battery

LG Leon

  • Android 5.0 Lollipop with custom UI on top
  • 4.5 inch FWVGA display, ~220 PPI
  • Chipset: 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz Quad-Core
  • 8MP or 5MP main camera, front facing VGA camera
  • 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory
  • 1,900 mAh battery

LG Joy

  • Android 5.0 Lollipop with custom UI on top (4.4 KitKat on the 3G version)
  • 4 inch WVGA display, ~233 PPI
  • Chipset: 1.2GHz Quad-Core /1.2GHz Dual-Core
  • 5MP main camera, front facing VGA camera
  • 1GB or 512MB RAM, 8GB or 4GB internal memory
  • 1,900 mAh battery

You’ll notice that I’ve mentioned or for a few metrics above. LG will be launching all the four devices in 4G LTE and 3G versions. The specs correspond to the said two versions respectively. The LG Joy 3G version comes with KitKat out of the box, with an upgrade to Lollipop supposed to be released some time in the future.
