LG confirms Lollipop update for the Indian G2 in Quarter 2, 2015
LG India has confirmed that the G2 launched alongside the Nexus 5 will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the second quarter of this year. The company’s official Indian Twitter handle confirmed the news a couple of days back in a reply to a user.
It is worth noting that the Korean version of the G2 has already received the Lollipop update, almost two months back. What is causing the extremely big delay in pushing out the same update to the Indian version is a bit of a mystery for now, since there’s no real different between the Korean G2 and the Indian G2.
LG has not mentioned any details about the massive delay in releasing the Lollipop update for the Indian G2 so far, but seeing the company’s G3 Lollipop update being a bit buggy, you can hazard a guess that they are still working on making it as bug free as possible. While that may be a good idea, the delay is a bit too much to accept, considering that Lollipop has been out for more than 5 months now.
