lenovo announce 199USD ThinkCentre Chromebox running Google Chrome OS
There has been renewed interest from PC manufacturers in developing Chrome OS hardware. Today, Lenovo has announced an addition to fast expanding lineup of devices running Chrome OS. The ThinkCentre Tiny desktop family is getting ThinkCentre Chromebox, a desktop that runs Google’s Chrome OS. This will be available in two variants. The standards desktop model will cost $199 and All-in-One style variant will cost $279 (the desktop part attached to the rear side of the monitor). Come June, interested buyers will be able to purchase the ThinkCentre Chromebox from online and retail stores.
“Lenovo was the first to introduce a one litre commercial desktop and ThinkCentre Chromebox is a testament to our commitment to the continued evolution of the desktop and our promise to push the boundaries on innovation for our education and business customers.” said Ouyang Jun, vice president and general manager, Desktop and Visuals, Lenovo. “Combined with the ThinkCentre Tiny-in-One, the new Chromebox illustrates our belief in more flexibility for teachers and IT managers to continue to offer desktop solutions in a modern day environment.”
