Laptopmag 2015 laptop brand trust table: Lenovo falls, Dell rises
This is definitely a shocker. For nearly four years, Lenovo has been solid at no.2 in most trusted laptop brands report by LaptopMag and ASUS had hung on to #3 spot fot last two years. This year, the table has changed drastically, taking Dell to #2 spot, HP to #3 spot and MSI sprang a surprise by debuting at #4. Laptopmag’s study on best and worst laptops has been pretty accurate for last few years but pushing Lenovo down to #6 just because of infamous pre-loaded adware is not exactly good as Lenovo has admitted their mistake and has been working on clearing the adware from effected consumer laptop. Other than Lenovo’s position, everything seems to be pretty accurate.
The main reason for Lenovo’s drop from the #2 spot has to do with the pre-loading of ugly adware on consumer laptop and ASUS’s fall to 7th place has to do with mediocre after sales support. Acer fell to the bottom place as they could neither innovate nor provide quality support last year.
As usual, Apple has maintained their position at the top for 6th year in a row and they are way way ahead of the competition, scoring 84 points out of 100. Dell has been on a roll in 2014. They have released stunning ultrabooks, powerful yet cheap tablets and managed to make their tech support better. Such has been their innovation that they bettered Apple in this aspect. Dell also managed to score higher than any other brand in ‘value & selection’.
