Huawei Mate 9 Lite Launched – Dual Camera, 5.5-inch Display In Tow
Huawei has silently launched a new smartphone, the new Mate 9 Lite. Building on the Mate 9 series, the new Mate 9 Lite is a more affordable version aimed at the budget segment. It comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display and a dual camera setup on the back. The company did not make any specific announcement about the launch of the phone, but it is now listed on the company’s official website.

The Huawei Mate 9 Lite comes with a 5.5 inch full HD IPS LCD display, with a pixel density of ~401 PPI. You get a 2.5D curved glass for an enhanced experience. Huawei is launching the Mate 9 Lite with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It comes with the company’s own custom skin, EMUI 4.1 on top.
In terms of processing and memory, the Mate 9 Lite features an octa-core CPU. Huawei is using its own HiSilicon Kirin 655 SoC. In terms of memory, the phone comes in two variants – 3 GB RAM and 4 GB RAM. The 3 GB RAM version comes with 32 GB internal storage, while the 4 GB RAM version comes with 64 GB internal storage. Huawei has not revealed whether the phone supports memory cards, though.
On the camera front, the Mate 9 Lite features a dual camera setup on the back. The primary 12 MP sensor comes with Phase Detection Autofocus and a pixel size of 1.25nm. A secondary 2 MP camera helps it with the depth details for an improved image. On the front, you get an 8 MP camera for selfies.
The phone supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor and a 3340 mAh battery.
Huawei has not revealed any information about the pricing and availability of the Mate 9 Lite at this point.
