Huawei launches Maimang 5 with Snapdragon 625
Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei has launched the successor of Maimang 4, dubbed as Huawei Maimang 5 in its home country. The Maimang 4 was lated launched globally as Huawei G8. We expect this device to be launched as Huawei G9. Huawei had earlier launched the G9 Lite in China.
The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skinned on top. The device features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS Display.
The Maimang 5 is powered by a 2 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 3 / 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The internal storage on the device can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card.
Coming to the camera department, the Maimang 5 features a 16 MP primary camera with Phase detection auto-focus, Optical image stabilization and dual LED flash. On the front, there is an 8 MP secondary camera.
The device is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and a USB Type-C port.
The 3 GB RAM variant has been priced at CNY 2,399 while the 4 GB RAM variant has been priced at CNY 2,599. The device is up for pre-order and goes on sale from July 21.
