Huawei Honor 6 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update rolling out with EMUI 3.1
Huawei Honor 6 is receiving a new firmware update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The Honor 6 is first receiving the Lollipop update in India, but you will have to download and apply the update manually.
The Huawei Honor 6 is currently running on KitKat, and with the Lollipop update to the core OS bringing in a lot of big changes, it is good to finally see companies push out updates to phones across the price spectrum. Lollipop brings in big changes like a new runtime, Material Design language and tons of animations to make the user experience delightful.
Although we don’t have a specific changelog for the Honor 6 yet, the new Lollipop update brings the new EMUI 3.1 launcher as well
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is not rolling out over-the-air just yet, with only a few users having received the notification. If you can download and install the update manually, the ROM zip file is available on Huawei’s website here. The update is a big one, with a 1.3 GB file download required. Huawei requires you to have at least 3 GB of space free to install the update manually, so you will have to make space if you don’t have enough free space.
