HTC One M8 being updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop in India
HTC One M8 users in India – good news for you! HTC is releasing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its users in India, just a few days after the 90-days update promise the Taiwanese company made.
The Lollipop update brings a lot of UI enhancements and many under-the-hood improvements, which, in theory, should drastically improve the speed of operation and power consumption. The update also fixes a few security holes like any update would. HTC has also tweaked its Sense UI to match the Material Design spec.
HTC had promised to release the Lollipop update to its One M8 users worldwide (unlocked, non-carrier phones) within 90 days. While the update has been trickling out to some users across regions, it’s not out for everyone just yet. In India, the update is currently being released Over the Air, coming in at a hefty 574 MB. The firmware version is 4.18.720.8. Go hit that Check for Updates button if you haven’t already and let us know if you get the update.
