HP Elite Slice and Wave are seriously good looking PCs

HP Pavilion Wave and HP Pavilion Elite Slice are new compact form factor desktop Pcs that are unique in their own way. HP Pavilion wave is designed for superio multimedia experience for home users while HP Pavilion Elite Slice is designed to modernize workspaces. Scroll to the bottom of the post for pricing and availability. HP has also announced EliteDisplay S240j Monitor and LD5511 55” display.

HP Pavilion Wave looks absolutely stunning, thanks to the triangular 360 degree design. The Pavilion Wave is 85% smaller than traditional tower PCs (6.81” x 6.62” x 10.29”). HP has used premium material for finishing. There is a parablic reflector on top that reflects the audio coming form speaker grille and also acts as a vent for hot air to come out. 360 Degree multi directional reflective audio is tuned by B&) Play for accurate and superior listening experience. The mother board is housed on one side of the triangular chassis, the second side has the hard drive assembly and the third side houses cooling parts.

“Today’s desktop customers want sleek, innovative and powerful designs that enable new experiences,” said Mike Nash, vice president, customer experience and portfolio strategy, HP Inc. “The HP Pavilion Wave and Elite Slice are the result of HP engineers and designers reinventing the desktop by rethinking its shape, size and look while adding functionality to enable new use cases.”

HP Elite Slice on the other hand is more serious PC as this one is designed to modernize the workspace and bring modular design to business users. A bit like ThinkPad Stack, users can stack modules/components on top of each other to create a customized workstation. These modules include Collaboration Cover, Wireless Charging Cover, Audio Module, Optical Disk Drive Module etc. The base unit dimension is 6.5″ x 1.38″ x 6.5″ and weighs 2.31 lbs. If you have a display like the HP EliteDisplay S240uj monitor, you can use the Type-C port and power the Elite Slide (yeah, a monitor can power this desktop).

Here is the list of Covers (modules) that are announced by HP:

  • HP Collaboration Cover: turns the desktop into a Microsoft Skype for Business phone for easy call management with capacitive touch keys.
