HP announces ProPad 600 enterprise tablet, upgrades ElitePad 900 to 1000
HP today launched a new business oriented ProPad 600 and upgraded ElitePad 900 business tablet. The updated ElitePad, branded as ElitePad 1000 will be available from March for a starting price of $739 while ProPad 600 will be released to market sometime in April. HP has also announced HP TX1 POS Solution, a stand that can hold these tablets, targeted at retailers/restaurants that plan to use ProPad and ElitePad at front desk/billing desk.
“Our tablets and mobile ecosystem continue to evolve to meet the growing transformation of the workplace,” said Enrique Lores, senior vice president and general manager, Commercial PCs, HP. “The line between work and life has blurred to the point that it’s now a true blend, where employees increasingly require stylish, business-ready mobile devices that don’t make any sacrifices to productivity, reliability or security.”

Powered by Quad Core Intel Atom processor, ProPad 600 runs Windows 8.1 operating system and has a 10” WUXGA display protected by Gorilla Glass. There will be onboard storage of upto 64GB and users can upgrade by 32GB using microSD card. Here is a quick spec list

HP ElitePad 1000
ElitePad 1000 is a much needed upgrade to ElitePad and is a true business class tablet with super rugged build quality, gorgeous display and comes with optional 4G LTE modem. This tablet weights just 1.5 pounds and is 9.2mm thin. Display is upgraded to a 10.1” WUXGA touchscreen display with 16:10 aspect ratio, protected by Gorilla glass 3. The alumium unibody chassis, MIL-STD 810G tested, withstands upto 115,000 hours of reliability testing.
