Honor V9 comes with a QHD display, powered by Kirin 960 chip
Huawei’s Honor V9 is now official. Announced in China this week, the Honor V9 is priced at CNY 2,999 (around $440) for the 64GB storage variant. Those in China can book an appointment right now at vmall and the device will be shipped from 28th of February. Powered by Hisilicon Kirin 960, the Honor V9 has a 5.7″ LTPS 1440×2560 pixel resolution display.
The prime feature of the Honor V9 is the dual camera setup at the back. The prime lens is a 12mp lens while the second lens is a 12mp f/2.2 lens monochrome sensor. Focusing is lightning fast thanks to laser autofocus and there is 4K resolution video recording support. The front camera is an 8mp f/2.0 unit.
The rear camera setup can campture detail of an object in 3D and this image can be sent to a 3D printer to get a 3D print of the object.
The Hisilicon Kirin 960 is a very capable chip that is fast and power efficient. There is 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and the Honor V9 never feels need for more RAM. A 128GB storage variant will be released later this year. If users need more storage, they can add a microSD card (up to 128GB). The bummer though is that this is done by using the hybrid SIM card slot which means that you have to give up on SIM card to use micoSD card.
There is a 4000mAh battery and given how good Huawei’s optimization is, we can expect very long battery life for this phone. The Honor V9 runs Huawei EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
