Google to roll out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Nexus devices and AOSP next week
Google today announced the launch of its two new Nexus phones – the Huawei Nexus 6P and the LG Nexus 5X, along with a new Chromecast, Chromecast Audio and a Pixel C Android tablet. Along with these new devices, Google also announced the roll out of the latest Android update, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Beginning next week, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will begin rolling out to the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and the Nexus Player. The older Nexus 4 has finally been dropped, considering its age and the processor. The Marshmallow update brings quite a few good new features to the table – Now on Tap, Nexus Imprint fingerprint support, Doze for battery improvements and Run Time permissions ala iOS.
Google has set up a website to show off these new features in Marshmallow. One of the feature showcases is interactive to give you a better idea of how things are going to work. You can check out the new features in action below.
