Google And Railtel Bring Free High Speed Wi-Fi To 9 More Railway Stations In India
Google today announced that it is rolling out free high speed Wi-Fi across railway stations in India. The search giant, in partnership with Railtel, has expanded its Free High Speed Wi-Fi service to nine more railway stations across the country.
According to Google, more than 1.5 million people use these nine new railway stations every day. The company is rolling out its free wi-fi service to the following stations today:
- Bhopal
- Bhubaneshwar
- Ernakulam Jn
- Kacheguda
- Pune
- Raipur
- Ranchi
- Vijayawada
- Vishakhapatnam
The first ever railway station to get free Google-Railtel Wi-Fi access was Mumbai Central. Started back in the month of January, more than 100,000 people are already using the service on a daily basis, according to Google.
The company is planning to expand its service to at least 90 more stations in this year, with an eventual target of 400 stations across the country.
