Google Play Store Carrier Billing Live For Airtel And Vodafone In India
Google has finally added carrier billing support for Airtel and Vodafone customers in India. According to the latest reports, Indian users on Airtel and Vodafone have been able to add carrier billing as a payment method.
Google had announced back in October that it has partnered with Airtel and Vodafone to bring carrier billing support for Indian users. Idea, another Indian carrier, was already supported as a payment option in the Play Store. This latest addition of Airtel and Vodafone brings the total tally of carriers to three – all of which are one of the top few carriers in the country.
Google had added Idea as a carrier billing partner back in May last year. Since then, there were rumours that other carriers will be supported soon. However, due to technical issues in implementation, addition of Airtel had to be pushed back.
With the expansion of carrier billing to Airtel and Vodafone, Indian Android users can now buy items from the Play Store using a range of payment options. In addition to Debit and Credit cards, Google supports Netbanking as well. Users can also use Promo codes to redeem purchases in the Play Store.
