Google Chromecast launched in India for Rs. 2,999
Google has launched its very popular device called Chromecast in India for a price of Rs. 2,999. The streaming device will be available on Snapdeal initially, with Play Store to follow soon.
Google Chromecast is a HDMI dongle, used to “cast” media from phones and web apps. You can even mirror Chrome browser from your PC on to the connected TV, if you want to. All you are required to have is an HDMI-capable TV, a good internet connection and the Chromecast, of course.
Although the Chromecast is launching and year and half late in India, and costs a bit higher compared to the US, it’s still a very good device. Google is trying to sweeten the deal by throwing in 60 GB of free data from Airtel (20 GB per month) – if you don’t already have an internet connection from Airtel, they’ll activate a new one for free. You’ll also get 2 months of Eros Now subscription for free.
