Google announce OnHub Wi-Fi router
Well, this is interesting. Of all things, Google has announced a new product, a wireless router named OnHub. OnHub will be available for pre-order from $199.99 in USA (at Google Store, Amazon, Walmart) and will be available in retail stores across USA and Canada in coming weeks. Google has partnered with TP-LINK to create this unique Wi-Fi router that searches various channels to provide most stable and fastest connection to all devices.
OnHub comes with a antenna design and backend software that continuously scans airwaves for interferences (from devices like microwaves, pacemakers, cordless phones, other Wi-Fi networks etc) and adjusts channels for optimum speed and reach. Users can even prioritize a device (eg: streaming a high def show to your computer or phone, you can set the router to prioritize this device). Setting up Wi-Fi too is easy, thanks to Google’s new On applications available for iOS and Android. Apart from setting up Wi-Fi, users can check how much bandwidth is used by a device, do a network check, diagnostics etc.
