Google announce new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P Android smartphones

Google has finally took the wraps off of the new Nexus devices. Given how premium Nexus phablet (Google Motorola Nexus 6) backfired in a really bad way, Google has decided to release two Nexus devices this year. The LG made Nexus 5X is the Nexus for the masses while the Huawei made Nexus 6P is for those who are looking for premium Nexus phablet. LG Nexus 5X comes with a 5.2″ FullHD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdraon 808 chip and will go head on against the likes of OnePlus 2 and Motorola Moto X Pure. Huawei Nexus 6P on the other hand comes with 5.7″ WQHD 2K resolution display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. Nexus 5X is priced at and will be available for pre-order now with starting price of $379 . Nexus 6P is priced at and will be available for pre-order now for starting price of $499.

Both the handsets come with a new secondary processor named “Android Sensor Hub” that monitors the device’s movement and  this is a bit similar to the co-processor in iPhones and iPads. Android Sensor Hub processes advanced activity recognition , adds extra power to camera’s sensors etc. Following in the footsteps of Apple, Google has announced ‘Nexus Protect’ program (similar to AppleCare). Priced at $69 for 5X and $89 for 6P, those who register for Nexus Protect will get repair and replacement for mechanical issues and also covers accidental damage for 2 years. Google Has also announced that Play Music will now get family plan where those under same roof can all get library of music for $15 a month.
