Gmail for Android gets unified inbox, conversation view and more animations
Google’s Gmail app for Android is one of the best email apps out there for mobiles. It is simple, it is clean and it is fast. The best thing about it is, after the recent update, it now supports other mail providers like Outlook.com, Yahoo! and the likes. Google has updated it today to bring in more features and improve a lot of other things about the app.
The main changes are:
Unified Inbox – If you are among those who have multiple email accounts on your device, switching back and forth between those accounts, although easy, gets a bit annoying. Google is solving that issue today with a unified inbox. Other apps have all had this feature for a while now, so it’s good to see Google finally implementing it in their app.
Smarter Search – Essentially, search in the Gmail app will now try and predict autocomplete faster than ever before.
More responsive animations – Today’s update also includes more responsive animations (like when you open and close a conversation), larger attachment previews to help you see what’s inside, and the ability to save to Drive with a single tap.
The update should start rolling out shortly.
