Gionee Steel 2 Launched With 5″ Display, 4000mAh Battery
Gionee continues to expand its line of affordable smartphones. The Gionee Steel 2 is the latest in line of entry level phones from the company, featuring a 5 inch display and a big 4000 mAh battery. Launched in China, the Steel 2 has been priced at RMB 1,299 (approx $190).
Gionee Steel 2 Specifications
The Gionee Steel 2 comes with a 5 inch HD display, which is 1280 x 720 pixels resulting in a pixel density of ~294 PPI. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with Amigo 3.5 UI on top.
In terms of processor, the Steel 2 comes with a Mediatek MT6737 SoC, featuring a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and Mali-T720 GPU. The phone comes with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage, expandable with a microSD card.
Coming to imaging, you get an 8 MP camera on the back. Assisting the rear camera is an LED flash. On the front, you get a 5 MP camera for selfies and video calling.
Connectivity options include dual SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. The Steel 2 is powered by a 4000 mAh battery.
Pricing And Availability
Gionee has priced the Steel 2 at RMB 1,299, or approximately $190. It is currently available for pre-order in China. Wider availability details are not known yet.
