Elephone announce Vowney Android smartphone with 2K resolution display
Elephone, the European smartphone maker has announced a new Android smartphone, the Vowney. Downey is powered by MediaTek MTK6795 chip, has a 2K resolution 5.5” display and is available for pre-order for a starting price of $289 in Europe. As of now, users can place an order for Gold color phone while the full Black model will be available later this year. At launch, the phone will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-loaded.
The chip has a 2GHz quad core CPU ,IMG Rogue 6200 GPU and 4GB of RAM feed data to the MediaTek MTK6795 chip while 64GB of storage feed data to the RAM. Elephone picked a Sony IMX230 20.3mp sensor for rear camera and there is an 8mp front facing camera. The rear camera can record videos in 4K resolution. To make sure that the phone can last atleast a day, Elephone provided a massive 4000mAh battery and fast charging adapter is provided in the box. Bummer though is that, even with Quick Charge enabled, it takes around 2.5 hours to fully charge the battery from 0%.
