Dell Precision M3800 has 4K display and is super light and thin

Looks like Dell is on a roll this year. After announcing droolworthy products at CES 2015, Dell has, this week, announced a brand new workstation class notebook with 4K resolution display. Dell Precision M3800 is designed to give customers the flexibility to build a workstation class system tailored to their need. WIth powerful graphics and processor options, M3800 will provide video editors, graphic designers and other users that need heavy computing power, combination of portability, powerful performance and reliability. Users can pick Ubuntu or Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 operating system while purchasing the notebook. Dell Precision M3800 is available for a starting price or $1600 at Dell USA site. Do note that the entry model comes with FullHD display and you need to pay $70 extra for 4K resolution display.

The 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) resolution UltraSharp display panel is based on IGZO2 technology and is 15.6″ in size. Dell’s UltraSharp lineup of panels are known to be extremely reliable and of high quality meant for those who need accurate color reproduction. When compared to Retina Macbook Pro, this panel will have 3.4 million extra pixels. The panel is touch enabled with 10-point multitouch.

To make transfer of raw 4K video faster and easier, M3800 comes with Thunderbolt 2 port that can transfer data at speeds upto 20Gbps. Users can pick upto 2TB of internal storage (maximum of 1TB SATA HDD or SDD and upto 1TB of additional SATA or 512GB of SSD drive).

Powered by a quad core Intel Core i7-4712HQ processor running at 2.3GHz (3.3GHz turbo, 6MB cache, 37W power draw) and Nvidia Quadro K1100M workstation class graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM and with (upto16GB of RAM at the disposal, video designers will have a fun time working on this laptop for sure.
