Canon announced new EOS 7D Mark II Kit with W-E1 Wi-Fi Adapter
Canon has announced a new EOS 7D Mark II Kit which now includes a new SD card sized Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1. With the new Wi-Fi adapter, photographers can immediately connect to Wi-Fi networks and upload the images and videos to cloud. Photographers can also use Canon Camera Connect application to remote capture still images (using compatible smartphone or tablet). Canon EOS 7D Mark II Lens Kit is currently scheduled to be available in October 2016 for an estimated retail price of $2,449, with the body-only version also currently scheduled to be available in October 2016 for an estimated retail price of $1,849. The Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 is scheduled to be available in early September 2016 for an estimated retail price of $50.00.
The new Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 supports 802.11b/g/n protocols. For existing owners of EOS 7D Mark II, Canon will push a firmware update to enable compatibility with W-E1 in September and to EOS 5DS and 5DS R camera owners in November. Canon is also going to bundle EOS 7D Mark II with Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens. The new lens is optimized for high speed autofocus for still photography and smooth zoom (when shooting video). This is the first time that Canon has enabled Nano USM tech on their lens.
