BBM updated with Material Design

BlackBerry may be down and nearly out, but the company is not wanting to go out without a fight. Continuing to resist it, the one-time top smartphone vendor has released a new update to its BBM service that makes it look a lot better and modern. It took them long, but the BBM Material Design update is finally here.

This Material Design update will show up only in the beta stream for now, with the company testing out the kinks before releasing it to the stable version. This new update also brings private chats wherein the name and the notifications of a contact are disabled. Once you close the chat, it gets auto-deleted. This update also lets you edit your messages and publish statuses in the BBM feed.
