Asus Zenfone AR hints that the Next Big revolution in Smartphones will be Augmented Reality
Asus and its love for engineering and innovation is something everyone is aware of. Asus has been a pioneer of many technologies in the smartphone eco-system. Asus has launched its Zenfone AR mobile in India. Priced at Rs 49999, this mobile is built around the Augmented Reality space. Lenovo Tango Phab 2 was the first mobile to support the Tango AR project by Google. But now we have a far more capable and powerful mobile from Asus to work with the Tango and Daydream project from Google.
What is Tango?
Tango is a set of sensor and software that enables AR apps. With Tango, the smartphone can see and understand the spaces around you like humans. The smartphone must be able to track motion, learn the area and perceive depth. With this concept in place, Augmented reality apps are built to understand and serve you in your real-time space by adding computer generated information and virtual objects onto it. There are over 40 apps in the Google Play store, which are Tango-enabled and the list is growing.
Asus Camera System for Tango
In the Zenfone AR, Asus has put in a Tricam System. The 23 MP camera aids to view the virtual objects in your real world. The second depth sensing camera is an IR projector that helps to measure the distance of the objects in the real worlds. The 3rd Camera helps to track motion. The 23 MP camera has Tritech focus with a laser, contrast, and phase detection autofocus systems. It has 4 axes optical image stabilization for photos and 3 axis OIS for videos.
Asus Zenfone AR powerful to power Tango
The Asus Zenfone AR is the most powerful mobile in the market to support both Daydream virtual reality and Tango Augmented reality. It is powered by Snapdragon 821 specifically tuned for Tango support. It has an immersive audio system with 5 magnet speaker and NXP amplifier. It has DTS support for headphones and APTx for Bluetooth headsets. The Hi-Res audio can also be enjoyed with the good quality ZenEar S headphones bundled with the package.
