ASUS releases official bootloader unlocker for ZenFone 2
Loading a custom ROM onto your ASUS ZenFone 2 just got a lot easier. ASUS has released a bootloader unlocking tool that will make it a lot easier to unlock the bootloader on your ASUS ZenFone 2. You have to unlock the bootloader on a device in order to root it or to install a custom ROM. This can now be done easily with the help of the tool.
ASUS does provide a word of warning before you get started: you must update your software to version 2.20.40.59 or later before using the unlock tool. You must keep in mind though that unlocking the bootloader still voids the warranty even though ASUS makes it easier to do so. Keep in mind that ASUS will not service unlocked devices.
