ASUS release Transformer 3 and Transformer 3 Pro 2-in-1 PCs
At IFA 2016, ASUS has announced new devices in Transformer lineup of convertibles. ASUS Transformer 3 Pro 2-in-1 and Transformer come with a 12.6″ 3K resolution display and are powered by 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor.
ASUS Transformer 3 is just 8.35mm thin and will be available in Gold and Grey color options. Like Microsoft Surface, the Transformer 3 Pro comes with a built-in metal kickstand that can be set in any position (no steps). The 3K resolution display has 170 degree viewing angle. ASUS Transformer 3 Pro can be docked to the Transformer Cover Keyboard that has backlit keys with 1.4mm key travel for comfortable typing experience. The Keyboard cover will be available in stone, charcoal, taupe and amber color options. The Transformer 3 Pro has a front mounted Harman Kardon stereo speakers. Other specs include up to 1TB PCIe SSD, up to 16GB of 2133MHz DDR4 RAM, USB Type-C port, USB 3.0, HDMI ports. There sia 13mp rear camera. The touch screen display supports ASUS Pen input. Users can also buy ASUS Universal dock to add wide range of connectivity options (USB-C 3.1, USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA, RJ45 LAN, and a 3-in-1 SD Card reader). ASUS Transformer 3 Pro is compatible with ROG XG Station 2 external graphics card dock to enhance graphics perfomance.
ASUS Transformer 3 weighs just 695 grams and is 6.9mm thin. While Transformer 3 shares most of the specs with Pro variant, SSD option is limited to 512MB and RAM is limited to 8GB. Both the variants come with built in fingerprint reader for biometric security.
