ASUS G501 is new RoG notebook with 4K display, core i7 cpu and GTX 960M GPU
ASUS Republic of Gamers lineup of notebooks are made of premium material and powerful hardware meant for hardcore gamers. This week, ASUS has announced three new models to RoG lineup. G501 gaming laptop is the thinnest laptop in its class and only weighs 4.54 pounds. G501 is powered by 4th gen Intel Core i7 processor i7-4720HQ and has a built in NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M graphics card. G501 shoots the input from the CPU/GPU onto a brilliant 15.6″ ultraHD 4K resolution display. Thanks to the premium IPS panel, the notebook has 178 degree viewing angle. Also released are G751 and GL551 that come with built in NVIDIA GeForce GTX900 graphics. ASUS G501 costs USD $1,999, G751 costs USD $1399 and GL551 costs USD $1299/$1099.
Other interesting features include HyperCool technology that keeps the notebook cool using two independent fans, copper heat-pipes. There is 4GB of GDDR5 memory built-in (in GTX960M GPU), 512GB PCI Express x4 SSD that can attain data transfer speed of 1400MB/s (2x faster than SATA 6 SSD), Intel Thunderbolt technology that provides upto 10Gbit/s transfer speed. G751JL comes with GTX 965M GPU (with 2GB of GDDR5 memory), 17.3″ FullHD display. G551 on the other hand comes with GTX960M (2GB of GDDR5 memory), 15.6″ display.
