Apple iPhone SE is the new 4″ midrange iPhone
Apple iPhone SE was the worst kept secret this year. Everyone were expecting announcement of 4″ iPhone and this is exactly what Apple announced. The new iPhone SE comes with a 4″ display and looks like a mix of iphone 5S and iPhone 6S. Apple iPhone SE is Apple iPhone 6S in iPhone 5S body. The Apple iPhone SE is powered by the Apple A9 chip and comes in 16GB, 64GB sizes. Coming with iOS 9.3, the new Apple iPhone SE will cost $399 for 16GB and $499 for 64GB. By end of May, apple will make the iPhone SE available in 110 countries and that will include India as well.
The overall specs of Apple iPhone SE is very similar to that of iPhone 6S. The camera at the back is the same 12mp iSight camera with true tone flash. The front facing camera uses display as a flash (named retina flash). There is the usual 240fps flo-mo and 60fps 1080p video recording and the 30fps 4K video recording. The touchID is super fast, the Apple Pay is there and Wi-FI can go up to 433MBps.
The main reason for released this iPhone is to capture the market in developing countries like India where there is huge potential for growth and we think that Apple is (almost) bang on target. It would’ve been much better if the Apple iPhone SE came with a 4.5″ display atleast but Apple is afraid of not letting this eat into the sales of iPhone 6’s which are already falling off the cliff. If Apple can price the iPhone SE at around 30,000/- INR, it will definitely sell like hot cakes in India. Who doesn’t want an iPhone?
