Apple drops Windows 7 Boot Camp support
Apple has dropped support for Windows 7 Boot Camp in the new MacBook Pro. The Cupertino hasn’t announced it formally, but according to the company’s official support pages, the newest MacBook Pro, Early 2015 supports only Windows 8. Going forward, only Windows 8 will be supported, if it is not obvious just yet.
The last MacBook to have Windows 7 Boot Camp support was the MacBook Pro retina version announced in mid 2014. However, Boot Camp is not the only way to get to a Windows setup on an Apple computer. Two other third party programs, Parallels Desktop 10 and VMWare Fusion 7 Pro support Windows 7 with an enhanced experience for OS X users. Not only do they offer support for Windows 7, but they also extend it right up to Windows XP, which is good for those who still like sticking with XP.
