Apple announce Macbook Pro with Force Touch touchpad
Finally, the top end Macbook, the Pro variant is getting the much acclaimed Force Touch trackpad along with faster flash storage and longer battery life. Apple has also announced a new $1,999 configuration 27” iMac with retina 5K display, quad core CPU while price of top end iMac is reduced to $2,299.
The new Macbook Pro comes with Force Touch trackpad with built in force sensors and taptic engine. The new trackpad (that debuted in Macbook) allows users to click anywhere and provides uniform feel, can calculate the amount of pressure applied for click and supports wide range of gestures.
“The response to the new MacBook and updated 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display has been amazing, and today we are thrilled to bring the new Force Touch trackpad, faster flash storage and longer battery life to the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Customers love the groundbreaking iMac with Retina 5K display, and now with a new lower starting price, even more people can experience the best desktop we’ve ever made.”
The new Macbook Pro has a 2.5 times faster flash storage that can hit 2GBps throughput, upto 9 hours of wireless web browsing, 9 hours of iTunes movie playback. Thanks to the new AMD Radeon M9 370X graphics card, the macbook has 80% better graphics performance.
Coming to the iMac, the new $1,999 iMac comes with 3.3GHz quad core Intel Core i5 processor, AMD R9 M290 graphics. There is 8GB of RAM and 1TB of storage onboard. Coming to ports, there are four USB 3.0 ports, 2x thunderbolt 2 ports.
