Apple announce iPhone 6S and 6S Plus with Force Touch display and 12mp camera
The new iPhones are announced, the wraps are off and we have a new color, the rose gold edition is real, the force touch is real. The new iPhones look very similar to the iPhone 6 series and are named iPhone 6S for 4.7” model and iPhone 6S Plus for 5.5” variant. The biggest news is that the new iPhones come with pressure sensitive Force Touch display (named, 3D touch). The new phones are priced the same as iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and the price of all current iPhone models is reduced. The new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be available for pre-order form 16th of September and will be avialable for public from 25th of September in USA, Australia and select countries in Europe and Asia. Apple will release the new models in 130 countries across the globe by end of the year. iOS 9 will be available from 16th of September for all compatible iOS devices across the globe.
Apple has included force touch supporting gestures deep into iOS 9. One example is that when you keep your finger on an e-mail to get a quick preview and keep applying more pressure and the e-mail opens up. press harder on an icon on home screen to get menu options. There is a custom display chip underneath that display that flashes the display three times brighter so that you can take quality selfies using front facing FaceTime HD camera.
The rear camera now has a 12mp sensor and looking at the detail in the photos shown on stage, we can definitely say that this is definitely the best camera on a smartphone. The new feature is that you can take live photos and a harder press on such photos will play a 2second video. The best part though is that the new camera can now record videos at 4K resolution.
Apple has now used 7000 series aluminum alloy to make sure that the new models does not ‘bend’. Apple A9 chip powers the new models and the M9 motion processor is moved into the A9 chip and is always on. Siri too is always on and all you need to say is ‘Hello Siri’ followed by your command. The 2nd generation TouchID finger print sensor is twice as fast as the current TouchID sensor. A new charging dock, five different types of leather covers and 11 new silicone covers will be available for purchase.
