Time and again, we end up with an application using up too much of cellular data or we may have set of apps that we never use while connected to a cellular network. It is a good practice to block these apps from using cellular data as even 10MB saved is data saved. We have compiled a few guides for Android Nougat. Data Saver
Go to Settings -> Data Saver. Turn on Data Saver.
Click on ‘Unrestricted data access’. You will now see the list of applications for which you can enable unrestricted data access.
By default, all apps will have restricted data usage. Apps that you enable here will have unrestricted access.
Block Data
Go to settings -> Data Usage.
Click on hamburger menu at top right corner. Click on App network access.
Click on the application for which you want to block data usage. To disable cellular data for the application, tap on cellular data icon.
Find apps that are using data and disable unwanted ones
Select what apps to disable
- Go to settings -> Data usage.
- Click on ‘Cellular data usage’.
- If you see that there is an application that should not have access to data, click on the application and block access to data.
