Amazon announces unlimited cloud storage for Cloud Drive users
Amazon has been really aggressive with its cloud offerings. However, the company has been pretty lackluster with its consumer offerings. After a long lull, however, Amazon announced a new Cloud Drive subscription plan, offering unlimited storage to its Cloud Drive customers.
Amazon announced two different plans today – Unlimited Photo and Unlimited Everything. While Unlimited Photo offers you unlimited photos storage, there is a 5 GB limit on storage for other files. Amazon is offering this for $12 a year, which is an extremely reasonable price.
Unlimited Everything offers unlimited storage for all kinds of files – photos, videos or documents. Amazon Is offering this for $60 a year, or about $5 per month. Both the plans are available only on an yearly basis, so you will have to pay up for them upfront.
- Unlimited Photos Plan (free 3-month trial, then $11.99 per year—equivalent of less than$1 per month): Store an infinite number of photos in Cloud Drive without worrying about taking up space on phones, cameras, or other devices. Customers can upload existing collections and store all future photos taken. This plan also includes 5 GB of additional storage for videos or other documents and files.
- Unlimited Everything Plan (free 3-month trial, then $59.99 per year—equivalent of less than $5 per month): Store an infinite number of new and existing photos, videos, files, documents, movies, and music in Cloud Drive.
Amazon is offering a free trial of 3 months of either service so you can evaluate them before subscribing.
