Alienware Alpha, worlds first PC gaming console is released
Alienware Alpha, the new generation gaming console powered by PC hardware in a form factor smaller than next generation gaming consoles (Xbox One and Playstation 4) is now available for purchase at Alienware.com, Amazon, Bestbuy.com, Fry’s Electronics, GameStop, NewEgg, SamsClub.com, TigerDirect and Walmart stores. With starting price or $549.99 (approx), the new Alpha can delier 600+ Steam controller supported games to living room. Dell is also offering $100 worth free games and bonus content for gamers who pre-ordered the device.
“We’ve been working hard this past year to break the mold and develop a system that finally brings hundreds of Steam games, including some really fun indie titles, to TVs.” Said Frank Azor, General Manager of Alienware. “The team and I are excited to finally deliver our vision for big screen gaming and give our fans a console that delivers true next-gen performance with the flexibility to choose how, what and where they want to play.”
Alienware created new user interface, named Alpha-UI and once the device is booted, it is this interface that users will be accessing. Users can also access full version of Windows 8.1 turning Alpha into traditional PC. From Alpha-UI, users can launch Steam Big Picture multimedia streaming library, adjust system, adjust AlienFX settings etc. For limited time, Dell is offering complete versions of Anomaly: Warzone Earth, Awesomenauts, Magicka, Metro:Last Light, PAYDAY 2 and Strike Suit Zero games for free.
