Alcatel announce ultrathin midrange OneTouch Idol Ultra Android smartphone
Alcatel, a struggling brand in mobile phone arena has launched a new midrange smartphone that is ridiculously thin, at just 6.45mm. Even with such thinness, the phone comes with impressive specification that make it a very good midrange smartphone. Currently available in middle east, this phone costs under $350.
OneTouch Idol Ultra comes with a beautiful 4.7” AMOLED 720p display, is powered by a dual core MediaTek MT6577 (cortex A9 based) CPU running at 1.2GHz and has a PowerVR SGX531T GPU, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory (no microSD card slot) At launch, this phone will run JellyBean variant (4.1). Rear camera has 8mp sensor and can record videos at FullHD resolution. There is a 1.3mp front facing camera for video calling. Battery is at 1800mAh and should be able to power the phone for full day.
One weird thing about this phone is that it does not have a 3.5mm audio port and instead comes with an adapter to which you can connect your standard headphone. We think this is to keep the thinness intact.
