Adidas release SMART RUN smart watch to help runners

Wearable devices! This is one area that is heating up recently. Adidas has announced that they are launching a new wrist device that track runs/jogs using GPS mapping, monitor hear rate, play music and provide real time coaching. In short, Adidas miCoach SMART RUN is a new smart watch with a 1.45” touchscreen display that does more of fitness coaching and statistics collection than display time and date. SMART RUN is made to last long, thanks to stainless steel and magnesium build, gorilla glass display protector. The new smart watch will be available from 1st of November but the downside though is that it costs €399.00. Adidas has not released any detail on stores that will stock the SMART RUN and in which countires, the SMART RUN  will be launched.

SMART RUN has a built in accelerometer that counts every step, a heart rate tracker that is based on optical technology, GPS chip to track speed, distance and to record the route and an mp3 player that plays audio via Bluetooth. Adidas miCoach system is built-in to this smart watch and is found on a concept ‘4 colored zones’ (blue, green, yellow and red that are used by SMART RUN for coaching). Feedback is sent to the runner via vibrations, via smart watch display and via Bluetooth headset (vocal feedback). Also, to help runners do a bit or cardio, there are 400+ animations stored in the watch that are played on the screen to guide users. These animations are combined to create hundreds of workouts and plans.
