Adduplex Windows 8 wp8 and RT stats are interesting
Adduplex is a cross-promotion network specifically targeted at Windows 8 and Windows Phone apps and games that takes care of advertisements in applications. What they also do is run some cool analysis and generate stats. This time, in their blog, Adduplex revealed how Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone 8 devices are doing. First up is the Windows 8 and RT devices chart. Addpulex had hits form 3000+ devices running Windows 8 or Windows RT. The 81% share is for all those countless devices that fall out of the top 10. Unsurprisingly Microsoft’s Surface tablet powered by Windows RT has the highest share (at 11%) and it is actually surprising to see that this tablet is selling more than any other Windows 8 device in the world be it regular laptop or desktop or tablet. No other Windows 8 or Windows RT device was able to garner more than 2% or share. When it comes to OEMs, HP is leading, thanks to its wide lineup of Windows 8 devices and is followed by Microsoft and Dell. We expect Microsoft to take the lead once Surface start heading to other countries and once Surface Pro hits the market. When it comes to Windows Phone devices, Nokia has annihilated competition. Top 4 devices are Lumias and Nokia sits pretty at the top with 68% marketshare. As expected HTC takes the second spot in the chart as apart from Nokia, HTC has been the only OEM actively releasing Windows Phone devices. Windows Phone 8 has just 4% of market share. Or should we say that WP8 has pulled 4% of marketshare in just few days since release. We expect this WP8’s share to grow at a good pace as more Windows Phone 8 device hit various countries. Source
