Acer Swift is new Kaby Lake powered super thin Ultrabook lineup
Acer has just announced a brand new lineup of ultra thin notebooks, one of which is less than a centimeter thick. The new lineup, Acer Swift is powered by Kaby Lake Intel 7th generation core processors (except the entry level Swift 1). The models are Acer Swift 1, Swif 3, Swift 5, Swift 7. Acer Swift 7 is the top end flagship ultrabook notebook that is just 9.98mm thick. Swift 7 will be available in October starting at $999, Swift 5 will be available from November with a starting price of $749. The Swift 3 will be priced at $499 for base variant, will be available from October. The Swift 1 will be priced at $249 for base variant, available from November.
Acer Swift 7 is powered by Intel Core i5-7300U 7th generation processor and has a 13.3” FullHD IPS display. Though the ultrabook is less than a centimeter thick, unibody aluminum build provided strength to the chassis. Users can configure to have a 256GB SSD, up to 8GB RAM. Connectivity options are 2T2R 802.11ac with MU-MIMO dual channel Wi-Fi, dual USB 3.1 Type-C ports.
Acer Swift 5 has a 14” FullHD IPS display (option to add touchscreen panel) and has stellar 13 hour battery life. Swift 5 weighs just 1.36kg and is powered by 7th Generation Intel Core chips. Users can configure to have a 512GB PCIe or SATA SSD, up to 8GB RAM. Connectivity options are 2T2R 802.11ac with MU-MIMO dual channel Wi-Fi, dual USB 3.1 Type-C ports.
The Acer Swift 3 will be offered to have Core i3 or i5 or i7 chips (Skylake or Kaby Lake) and weight just 1.5 kgs. The display is either a FullHD panel or 1366 x 768 pixel panel. Users can choose upto 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM. Swift 3 also comes with Type-C USB port.
Acer Swift 1 is the budget ultrabook, powered by Pentium or Celeron chips, with 32/64/128GB eMMC storage. The display is 14” 720p panel. The battery life is rated at 12 hours. Ports include HDMI out, SD card slot, two USB ports.
