Acer Chromebook 14 is industry’s first Chromebook powered by Intel Skylake Core CPU

Acer Chromebook 14 is officially the fastest Chromebook from Acer available now, thanks to the 6th Generation Intel Core processor. Chromebook 14 will be available in FullHD and 720p HD display models. While 720p model can attain 12 hour battery life, FullHD model can stay on for 10 hours. Also, thanks to the thin bezels, Acer was able to cram a 14″ display into a 13″ form factor. Targeting small businesses, Acer Chromebook 14 will be available with a starting price tag of $399 from the month of May.

Buyers can opt up to 8GB of RAM in dual channel configuration but the RAM is still a DDR3 model. Coming to storage, users can opt 16GB or 32GB of eMMC storage. Acer Chromebook 14 can be coupled with the USB Type-C dock that adds DisplayPort, HDMI, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports and three USB 3.1 Type-A ports, as well as audio input for microphone and audio output for speakers.

The Acer Chromebook 14 can be configured to either have a standard keyboard or a backlit keyboard. Both the keyboards come with spill resistance (up to 330 ml) and two drain holes route the water out from bottom of the chassis.
