$1399 SE846 is Shure’s entry into top end IEM market
With SE-846, Shure has finally made entry into ultra premium IEM market. This $1399 (MRP) IEM is officially launched in Asia last week with retail availability set to June and is currently available for pre-order in various markets across the globe. Shure has made the plastic enclosure see through so that the owners can do show off of internal design/parts to onlookers. The best part of SE846 is quad micro drivers (two low frequency, one midrange and one high frequency on a 3-way crossover configuration). Thanks to a built in low-pass filter (patent pending), SE846 come with ‘true subwoofer’ where bass roll off begins at 75Hz while at the same time keeping distortion or artifacts to minimum.
Users can configure the IEM to deliver bright or warm or balanced sound (via user serviceable nozzles), the included cables are kevlar reinforced and Shure has included 114 cms and 162 cms cables. The in ear design helps isolate sound that is upto 37 decibels in loudness. Listed below is the full specification of this IEM.
